About EMOTA

Representing online sellers in Brussels

eCommerce is in the spotlight of the EU legislator. Many issues discussed in Brussels will have an impact on online sales. EMOTA is covering a long list of policy dossiers which are highly relevant for e-commerce, whereby the focus lies on the removal of barriers to and facilitation of cross-border sales.

The present legal environment, with 28 different rules on consumer protection, respect of privacy, delivery and payments result in high costs for distance sellers with international ambitions. Policy makers are keen to help and EMOTA is there to show where the improvements are needed.

EMOTA Annual e-commerce Conference

The annual eCommerce conference in Brussels is organized in partnership with the professional events organizer Forum Europe. Contact the EMOTA Brussels Office to find out how you can be part of the event.

European e-commerce Trustmark

Trust is a key driver of eCommerce.  Most national e-commerce associations already implement a form of self- or even co-regulation aiming at guaranteeing a high level of service quality in the market.

At EU level, EMOTA is managing the harmonisation of these codes of best practice and ensures coherence in the implementation.
